On December 18, 2017 Hamden Police received a fraud complaint from Webster Bank, 2855 Dixwell Avenue.

Investigation revealed that Jose Cordero entered Webster Bank on October 9, 2017 and passed a counterfeit check in the amount of $1,987.00.

Detective John Marks conducted an investigation, which led to the application of an arrest warrant for Cordero. The court approved the arrest warrant application.

On January 14th Cordero was located by the New Haven Police Department. He was subsequently turned over to the custody of the Hamden Police Department. Cordero, 42, of 8 Salem Street, New Haven was charged with Forgery in the 3rd Degree and Larceny in the 4th Degree. He was detained on a court-ordered $10,000.00 bond. Cordero is scheduled to appear in court in Meriden on January 29th.
