On December 9, 2020 between 7:45a.m. and 10:21a.m. Hamden Police responded to two armed street robberies.
The following is a brief synopsis of the two incidents:
07:45 – Hamden Police responded to a Blue Hills Avenue address on the report of an armed street robbery. Investigation revealed that a 29 year-old female, that is employed as a nanny, was walking in a driveway, when she was approached by a young male. The male pointed a firearm at her, while demanding her personal belongings. The male subsequently stole her purse and attempted to steal her vehicle. The male fled, with several other juveniles, in a red Honda towards Church Street.
10:21 – Hamden Police responded to Battis Road on the report of an armed street robbery. Investigation revealed that a female motorist parked on the side of the road to make a telephone call. She was approached by a male, dressed in dark clothing. The male placed a firearm “to her temple” and demanded her belongings. She reluctantly gave him her purse, which contained money and credit cards. The male was last observed fleeing on foot, southbound on Battis Road.
