On December 14, 2020 between 8:15p.m. and 8:28p.m. Hamden Police responded to two armed street robberies.

The following is a brief synopsis of the two incidents:

8:15p.m. – Hamden Police responded to Savoy Street on the report of an attempted armed robbery, involving a gunshot being fired. The victim, a 22 year-old Hamden resident was standing beside his newly purchased motor vehicle. He was approached by a male, described as 17 to 18 years old, 5’9”, thin build, high-top haircut, wearing dark clothing. The male demanded the keys to his vehicle. The victim ran, at which time the male fired a gunshot at him. There were no reported injuries. The male suspect possibly fled from the area in a stolen Hyundai Elantra.

8:28p.m. – Hamden Police responded to a North Street residence on the report of an armed street robbery. The 61 year-old victim parked his motor vehicle in his driveway. While seated inside, a male approached the driver’s side window and pointed a firearm at his head, while demanding money. The male then searched the victim’s clothing, at which time a second male subject opened the passenger door. They subsequently stole a “work bag” and the keys to the victim’s vehicle. There were no reported injuries.
