On July 16, 2017 Hamden Police responded to a Helen Street residence on the report of an assault.
Investigation revealed that Hamden Police had earlier responded to the Helen Street address on the report of a dispute. The second floor tenants, the Edwards, were having a party. The first floor tenant, Daren Sarcione was upset that the guests were “slamming” the front door. Sarcione subsequently punched the glass located inside of the front door, shattering it. Particles of glass struck the female, second floor resident. Sarcione was arrested and charged with Disorderly Conduct. He appeared in Meriden Superior Court in July of 2017.
Shortly thereafter, second floor tenant, Marquise Edwards, and 2 other individuals forced their way into Sarcione’s residence and assaulted him. Sarcione sustained injuries to his back, head and wrist.
Officer Edward Stoor conducted an investigation, which led to the application of an arrest warrant for Marquise Edwards. The court approved the arrest warrant application.
On January 27, 2018 Hamden Police arrested Marquise Edwards on the strength of the warrant. Edwards, 41, of 137 Circular Avenue, Hamden was charged with Burglary in the 2nd Degree, Assault in the 3rd Degree and Disorderly Conduct. He was detained on a court-ordered $35,000.00 bond. Edwards is scheduled to appear in court in Meriden on February 12th.
