Here is a press release to warm your heart:

On December 26, 2020, Animal Control Officer Christopher Smith met with several people, including Joseph Mills, near Tom Swamp Road.

Mills and his friends located a female Mexican Hairless/Italian Greyhound in a heavily wooded area. The dog was wearing a leash that was tangled around a tree. The sweater that the dog was wearing was frozen. Investigation revealed that the dog had been missing from the West Woods Road area since December 14th, surviving the cold temperatures and the mid-December snowstorm.

The dog was transported to the Ridgehill Animal Hospital for a medical evaluation. We are happy to report that other than being a little underweight, the dog is healthy. She has been reunited with her family.
