On August 14, 2020, Hamden Police responded to a Laconia Street residence on the report of a forcible burglary.
Investigation revealed that Therman Blount knocked on the front door and spoke with the homeowner, moments before he committed the burglary. Blount advised the homeowner that he worked for the “State” and that he needed to inspect the house for storm damage. The homeowner subsequently escorted him around the property.
Moments later, the homeowner left for work. Blount returned and forcibly entered the residence. He stole money and electronic equipment.
Detective John Marks conducted the investigation, which led to the application of an arrest warrant for Blount. The court approved the arrest warrant application.
On January 5, 2021, Hamden Police arrested Therman Blount at Meriden Superior Court. Blount, 53, of 65 Twinbrook Road, Hamden was charged with Burglary in the 3rd Degree and Larceny in the 6th Degree. He is being detained on a court-ordered $25,000.00 bond.
