On January 21, 2021, Hamden Police arrested Derrick Miller for the murder of his wife Darlene Brown, which occurred on December 16, 2020. Miller was arrested at Meriden Superior Court. Miller, 57, of 255 Pine Rock Avenue, Apartment 17, Hamden was charged with Murder. He is being detained on a court-ordered $2,000,000.00 bond.
On December 16, 2020, Hamden Police had responded to the area of Pine Rock Avenue and Arch Street on the report of a shooting, with two possible victims. Darlene Brown was found seated in the driver’s seat with multiple gunshot wounds. She was pronounced dead shortly thereafter. Miller was located lying on the ground, near the passenger door. He had a gunshot wound in his torso. He was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.
On December 29, 2020, Hamden Police previously arrested Miller, relating to this incident. He was charged on the strength of an arrest warrant with Criminal Possession of a Firearm, Carrying a Pistol without a Permit and Illegal Alteration of a Firearm. He was being detained on a court-ordered $500,000.00 bond.
