On February 13, 2021 at approximately 6:00a.m. Hamden Police responded to 7-Eleven, 1795 Dixwell Avenue on the report of an armed robbery. An individual, described as a “stocky black male”, wearing distinctive red and white shoes, entered the store brandishing a firearm. He ordered an employee “down onto the ground” and then forcibly held him, while pointing the firearm at the back of his head. He then ordered other employees to empty the cash register. He subsequently fled on foot towards Lee Street.
On February 13, 2021 at approximately 1:00p.m. Hamden Police responded to the 1400 block of Dixwell Avenue on the report of a street robbery. The 39 year-old Hamden resident advised police that she was walking northbound on Dixwell Avenue. A small, blue sports utility vehicle, pulled in front of her, blocking the sidewalk. A young, light-skin black male exited the vehicle and grabbed her arm. He then punched her in the head, while attempting to grab her purse. As the purse fell to the ground, the juvenile entered the vehicle, which was operated by another person. The vehicle fled at a high rate of speed, southbound on Dixwell Avenue.
On February 14, 2021, at approximately 5:30p.m. Hamden Police responded to Mix Avenue on the report of a street robbery. A 70 year-old Hamden resident was attacked while walking southbound on Mix Avenue. Two individuals, exited a stolen vehicle and shoved the female victim to the ground. They subsequently stole her handbag, which contained money, cell phone and keys. The individuals responsible are described as black males, 30’s, wearing dark clothing. The stolen vehicle, described as a brown Jeep Cherokee was later located, abandoned in New Haven.
