On February 23, 2021 at approximately 8:30a.m. Hamden Police responded to Downs Road on the report of an abandoned dog.
A hiker exited a nearby trail and observed the operator of a “blue pick-up truck, with a darker gate affixed to the truck”, abandon a dog at the side of the road and drive away.
The dog is an older female beagle. Behind her right shoulder blade is a “two-inch mass”. The beagle has extremely long nails and is emaciated.
