On February 22, 2021, Hamden Police responded to Oregon Avenue on the report of an armed street robbery.
The victim, a 17-year-old New Haven resident, was robbed at gunpoint, while walking on Oregon Avenue. The victims cell phone and a small amount of money was stolen.
Officer Justin Martin conducted the investigation, which led to the application of an arrest warrant for a 16-year-old juvenile. The court approved the arrest warrant application.
On March 12th, with the assistance of the New Haven Police Department, Hamden Police arrested the juvenile at his New Haven residence. Officers recovered a loaded firearm in his bedroom.
The juvenile was charged with Robbery in the 1st Degree, Conspiracy to Commit Robbery in the 1st Degree, Larceny in the 2nd Degree, Conspiracy to Commit Larceny in the 2nd Degree and Threatening. He is scheduled to appear at Juvenile Court in New Haven on March 26th.
