On July 10, 2021, at approximately 2:00a.m. Hamden Police responded to the 1800 block of Dixwell Avenue on the report of a residential burglar alarm activation.
Moments later, Officer Keron Bryce located Chas Williams in the rear of the residence. Williams was in the possession of a hammer. A search of the property led to the discovery of a damaged screen and broken window. A chair had been placed beneath the broken window. Williams was promptly arrested and transported to police headquarters.
Hamden Police arrested Chas Williams, 49, of 21 Plaza Terrace, Hamden. He was charged with Criminal Attempt to Commit Burglary in the 2nd Degree, Criminal Trespass in the 2nd Degree, Criminal Mischief in the 3rd Degree and Possession of Burglar Tools. Williams, who was detained on a $25,000.00 bond, is scheduled to appear at Meriden Superior Court on October 7th.
