On July 19, 2021, at approximately 6:30p.m. Hamden Police responded to the report of a domestic dispute at 300 Pine Rock Avenue.
Investigation revealed that Ronshemu Pittman assaulted his girlfriend and threatened to kill her. She was able to flee from her apartment and contact police.
Moments later, Officer Timothy McKeon observed Pittman driving his motor vehicle in the parking lot. Pittman was detained, pending further investigation. Officer Timothy Janus subsequently located a loaded 9mm handgun inside of his vehicle. The firearm was equipped with a magazine, which contained 15 rounds of ammunition. Pittman was arrested and transported to police headquarters.
Hamden Police arrested Ronshemu Pittman, 26, of 324 Greenwich Avenue, New Haven. He was charged with Criminal Possession of a Firearm, Carrying a Pistol without a Permit, Weapon in a Motor Vehicle, Possession of a High Capacity Magazine, Criminal Possession of Ammunition, Disorderly Conduct and Threatening in the 2nd Degree. Pittman, who was detained on a $150,000.00 bond, was scheduled to appear at Meriden Superior Court today.
