On May 29, 2021, Hamden Police responded to Alltown Fresh, 1941 Dixwell Avenue on the report of an “attempted carjacking.”
Investigation revealed that a 29 year-old Meriden resident entered the store, while leaving his motor vehicle running. While he was inside of the store, a vehicle, which was stolen 90 minutes earlier in Milford, entered the parking lot. Dulyn Foreman emerged from the stolen vehicle and entered the victim’s vehicle. Foreman placed the vehicle in reverse, nearly striking a female that attempted to intervene.
As Foreman attempted to exit the parking lot, the owner of the vehicle exited the store and ran towards his vehicle. Foreman subsequently exited the vehicle, reportedly in the possession of a firearm. The owner of the vehicle then removed a firearm from his waistband and fired one shot, striking Foreman in the leg. Foreman reentered the stolen vehicle out of Milford. He was driven to Yale-New Haven Hospital for medical treatment.
Detective Shawn Nutcher conducted the investigation, which led to the application of an arrest warrant for Foreman. The court approved the arrest warrant application.
On July 23rd, Hamden Police arrested Dulyn Foreman, 20, of 476 Howard Avenue, New Haven. He was charged with Robbery in the 3rd Degree, Attempted Larceny in the 1st Degree and Tampering with a Motor Vehicle. Foreman, who was detained on a court-ordered $50,000.00 bond, is scheduled to appear at Meriden Superior Court on August 30, 2021.
