On February 18th Hamden Police responded to Quinnipiac University, 275 Mount Carmel Avenue on the report of a “drug investigation.”
Investigation revealed that Quinnipiac University Public Safety received information that a student was selling drugs from his dormitory. Public Safety personnel subsequently searched student Patrick Ownbey’s room. Along with Ownbey, 3 other students, Shawn Wheeler, Samuel Giess and Matthew Moore were present during the search.
Ownbey was in the possession of a plastic bag containing 15.5 grams of marijuana, 5 edible “Marijuana Fruity Pebbles Squares” weighing 303.3 grams, 87 grams of THC oil and drug paraphernalia, including packaging materials. Wheeler was in the possession of a plastic bag containing 137.5 grams of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, including a scale. Giess was in the possession of 1 “marijuana brownie”, which weighed 49.7 grams. Moore was in the possession of a plastic bag containing 35.8 grams of marijuana.
Hamden Police arrested:
Patrick Ownbey, 18, of 117 West Riding Road, Cherry Hill, New Jersey. He was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and Sale of a Controlled Substance. Ownbey, who was released on a $1,000.00 bond, is scheduled to appear in court in Meriden on March 5th.
Shawn Wheeler, 18, of 20 Hawthorne Drive, Atkinson, New Hampshire. He was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and Sale of a Controlled Substance. Wheeler, who was released on a $1,000.00 bond, is scheduled to appear in court in Meriden on March 5th.
Samuel Giess, 19, of 47 Temple Road, Wellesley, Massachusetts. He was issued an infraction for Possession of Marijuana, less than a half ounce.
Matthew Moore, 19, of 506 Wilton Hill Road, Wilton, Connecticut. He was issued an infraction for Possession of Marijuana, less than a half ounce.
