On August 15, 2021, at approximately 9:15p.m. Officer Christina Giori observed a stolen motor vehicle traveling southbound on Dixwell Avenue. She subsequently conducted a motor vehicle stop on Dixwell Avenue and Pond Street in New Haven.
A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of a loaded 9 mm handgun. Further investigation revealed that the vehicle was stolen in Middlebury on July 15, 2021. The operator of the stolen vehicle, Jaquia Henderson, was arrested and transported to police headquarters. A passenger inside of the vehicle, Robert George, was also arrested on the strength of arrest warrants originating out of Bridgeport.
Hamden Police arrested:
Jaquia Henderson, 27, of 39 Farren Avenue, New Haven. She was charged with Larceny in the 1st Degree, Weapon in a Motor Vehicle, Possession of a Large Capacity Magazine and Carrying a Pistol without a Permit. Henderson, who was detained on a $50,000.00 bond, is scheduled to appear at Meriden Superior Court on October 12th.
Robert George, 31, of Bridgeport. He was taken into custody by Bridgeport Police.
