On October 11, 2021 at approximately 11:30PM, Hamden Police responded to TGI Fridays, 2335 Dixwell Avenue, on the report of a customer causing a disturbance at the restaurant.
The investigation revealed that a customer, identified as Wisdom South, was intoxicated, yelling profanities and causing a disturbance at the bar. She began throwing glasses onto the floor and in the direction of customers. South punched an employee in the face during the disturbance. Various staff members attempted to diffuse the situation until police arrived. A restaurant employee was transported to Yale New Haven Hospital for minor injuries.
Wisdom South, age 25, of New Haven, CT was charged with Breach of Peace 2nd Degree, Criminal Mischief 1st Degree, three (3) counts of Reckless Endangerment 2nd Degree and Assault 2nd Degree. She was given a November 22, 2021 court date in Meriden Superior Court.
South also had an outstanding arrest warrant on file at the Middletown Police Department. She was released on a $25,000 non-surety bond for the Hamden charges and transferred to the custody of Middletown Police.
