On 11/01/21 at approximately 7:00 PM, a 61-year old female was robbed in the Hamden Plaza parking lot located at 2100 Dixwell Avenue. The victim was knocked down to the ground from behind and had her pocketbook forcibly taken from her. The woman sustained injuries to her lower and upper extremities from the attack.

The suspect was described as a black male, approximately 16-17 years old, 5’8”-5’10”, thin build, low cut hair (shaved on the sides), wearing black pants and a black hooded sweatshirt.

The suspect fled in a newer model, black colored car which was followed by a newer model, white colored car. Both vehicles fled from the shopping plaza towards the Spring Glen neighborhood. A good Samaritan located some of the discarded personal belongings of the victim.

The investigation into the street robbery is ongoing. Any witnesses or persons that have surveillance images of possible suspect vehicles are asked to contact Detective Mark Sheppard of the Hamden Police Department Major Crimes Unit at (203) 230-4047.
