On 12/07/21 shortly after midnight, Hamden police officers responded to the parking lot of the Dogwood Apartments, 200 Evergreen Avenue, on the report of an attempted robbery. A suspect in the parking lot approached the 65-year-old female victim and demanded her pocketbook at gunpoint. The suspect struck her several times in the head and face with the gun when she refused to give up her pocketbook. The suspect fled after the victim screamed and was unable to get any of her personal belongings. The suspect fled in a newer model Jeep Grand Cherokee with CT plates; dark blue or black in color. A second suspect was waiting in the getaway vehicle.

The victim suffered bruises and lacerations to her head and face. She was treated on scene by Hamden Fire Rescue and transported to Yale New Haven Hospital for further medical evaluation.
