On 01/15/22 at approximately 10:45 PM, a homicide occurred on Fairview Avenue near Arch Street. The victim has been identified as Herman Bellamy, age 22, of Hamden.
The preliminary investigation revealed that a passenger of Bellamy’s vehicle was firing a handgun from Bellamy’s vehicle. The passenger, Charles Hill, a 19-year-old New Haven resident, was arrested on 01/16/22 and charged with Criminal Possession of a Firearm, Carrying a Pistol without a Permit and Illegal Discharge of a Firearm. He was given a 01/28/22 court date at Meriden Superior Court and held on a $750,000 bond.
