On January 12th at approximately 5:00p.m. Hamden Police responded to the report of a robbery in the Warner Street area.

Investigation revealed that the victim was first observed making a purchase at a local service station with a one hundred dollar bill. He was subsequently approached by an individual, who asked him if he wanted to purchase marijuana. The victim agreed and then entered a motor vehicle, which had 4 occupants.

The victim was driven to Warner Street, where he was “pistol whipped” and his wallet was stolen. The victim, in an attempt to escape, “jumped out of the moving car.” He sustained a broken ankle. He was transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital for medical treatment.

Detective Joseph Liguori conducted an investigation, which led to the application of an arrest warrant for a 15 year-old Winchester resident. The court approved the arrest warrant application.

On March 18th Hamden Police arrested the juvenile. He was charged with Robbery in the 1st Degree, Conspiracy to Commit Robbery in the 1st Degree, Larceny in the 2nd Degree, Conspiracy to Commit Larceny in the 2nd Degree and Unlawful Restraint in the 1st Degree. The juvenile, who was subsequently transported to the Bridgeport Juvenile Detention Center, is scheduled to appear in Juvenile Court in New Haven on March 22nd.
