On 10/27/21 at approximately 12:00 PM, Hamden Police responded to the area of Concord Street near Dixwell Avenue on a reported shooting. There was an exchange of gunfire between two individuals. After an extensive investigation by Detective Jomo Crawford and Detective Andrew Lipford, one of the shooters was identified as Timothy Thomas, a 35-year-old Hamden resident. Mr. Thomas suffered a gunshot injury to the arm during the shooting. An arrest warrant was later secured for Thomas in conjunction with the investigation.
On 02/21/22, Timothy Thomas was arrested and charged with Criminal Attempt to Commit Assault 1st Degree, Criminal Possession of a Firearm and Carrying a Pistol without a Permit. Thomas was held on a $250,000.00 bond. At the time of his arrest, Mr. Thomas was in possession of illegal narcotics. He was subsequently charged with Possession of Narcotics and Possession of Narcotics with Intent to Sell. He was held on an additional $50,000.00 bond for the narcotic violations.
Timothy Thomas was assigned a 03/04/22 court date in Meriden Superior Court.
The Hamden Police Department Major Crimes Unit, along with the Hamden Police Department Patrol Division and New Haven Shooting Task Force, assisted in the investigation.
