The Hamden Police Department (HPD) is pleased to announce that we are beginning the testing process for entry-level police officers. The Town of Hamden is a diverse community with approximately 62,000 residents that features urban, suburban and rural areas. The Department fosters and preserves the public trust through community oriented policing strategies and by developing partnerships with all of our community stakeholder groups.

The public is invited to join us, along with the Hamden Fire Department, for a Public Safety Recruiting & Awareness Event at the Keefe Community Center (11 Pine Street) on March 14th from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM. Police and firefighters will be on-hand to answer questions about their careers and help provide useful information to interested candidates.
