Whitney Avenue (Route 10) is currently closed in both directions between Mt Carmel Avenue and Sherman Avenue, due to a an overnight accident with a struck fire hydrant and water over the roadway. Crews are on scene addressing the situation. It is unknown at this time how long the closure will last. Motorists are strongly urged to avoid the area.
