On January 29th Hamden Police responded to Apex Pharmacy, 2380 Dixwell Avenue on the report of fraud and larceny.

Investigation revealed that between July of 2017 and January of 2018, store employee Jamal Heath, stole $22,742.95. Heath removed 293 items from the shelf and then “scanned it as a return” onto his personal debit card.

Detective John Marks conducted an extensive investigation, which led to the application of an arrest warrant for Heath. The court approved the arrest warrant application.

On March 27th Heath turned himself in at police headquarters. Heath, 19, of 60 Eaton Street, West Haven was charged with Larceny in the 1st Degree. He was released on a written promise to appear. Heath is scheduled to appear in court in Meriden on April 11th.
