On February 3rd at approximately 4:30a.m. Hamden Police responded to Country Food Market, 2215 State Street on the report of a burglary in progress. Central Communications advised responding officers that 2 males were observed exiting the store and entering a “large, white pick-up truck.”

Investigation revealed that 2 males used a hammer to break the front glass door. Once inside, they stole an undisclosed amount of money from the cash register. The males then entered a motor vehicle, possibly a white-colored Dodge Ram, which was parked in the front of the store.

Detective Sean Dolan conducted an investigation, which led to the application of an arrest warrant for James Thompson. The court approved the arrest warrant application.

On April 9th Hamden Police arrested Thompson at Meriden Superior Court. Thompson, 54, of 26 Hilltop Place, New Haven was charged with Burglary in the 3rd Degree, Conspiracy to Commit Burglary in the 3rd Degree, Larceny in the 6th Degree, Conspiracy to Commit Larceny in the 6th Degree, Criminal Mischief in the 3rd Degree and Conspiracy to Commit Criminal Mischief in the 3rd Degree. Thompson, who was detained on a $2,500.00 court-ordered bond, was arraigned later in the day.

Michael Ross, 48, of 506 Valley Street, New Haven was arrested on March 29th regarding this incident.
