On November 7, 2017 Hamden Police responded to Partyka Chevrolet, 200 Skiff Street on the report of embezzlement.

Investigation revealed that Finance Manager Jevene Wright stole approximately $80,000.00 from the car dealership. Customers provided Wright with cash or personal checks to make purchases. Wright instructed customers to leave the “pay to the order” portion of their checks blank. He would then “fill in his name” and deposit the proceeds into his personal bank account.

Detective Scott Levenduski conducted the investigation, which led to the application of an arrest warrant for Wright. The court approved the arrest warrant application.

On April 23rd Hamden Police arrested Jevene Wright at Meriden Superior Court. Wright, 34, of 146 Kaechele Place, Bridgeport was charged with Larceny in the 1st Degree. Wright was detained on a court-ordered $25,000.00 bond. He was arraigned later in the day.
