On April 28th at approximately 5:15p.m. Hamden Police responded to an Augur Street residence on the report of a domestic dispute.

Investigation revealed that the 25 year-old female victim was earlier involved in a verbal dispute with her boyfriend, George Chin, in the parking lot of 2630 Whitney Avenue. While the female was seated inside of her vehicle, Chin opened the driver’s side door, “reached into the car” and “choked” her. Chin then “mush slapped” her on the right side of her face. He then proceeded to open the door a second time and pour a cup of juice on her. The victim subsequently left the area and drove to her residence.

Moments later, the victim reported that Chin responded to her residence and attempted to force entry through a bedroom window. The victim then allowed him into the residence. Once inside, Chin allegedly struck the victim in the face with a pocketbook and a shoe.

Hamden Fire Rescue responded and rendered medical assistance to the victim. She had injuries to her “left cheek bone” and the “base of the front of her neck.”

Shortly thereafter, New Haven Police arrived at Chin’s residence, 161 Maple Street in New Haven. New Haven Police detained Chin, prior to the arrival of Hamden Police.

Hamden Police arrested George Chin, 30, of New Haven. He was charged with Strangulation in the 2nd Degree, Assault in the 3rd Degree, Disorderly Conduct in the 2nd Degree and Criminal Mischief in the 3rd Degree. Chin, who was released after posting a $1,000.00 bond, was scheduled to appear in court in Meriden on April 30th.
