Electronic applicant fingerprinting is available at the Hamden Police Department . As we transition to using Biometric Identification Services, an outside electronic fingerprinting vendor, we are suspending new fingerprint applicants at this time in an attempt to clear the current waiting list.
This will provide a fair transition to people who have been waiting for weeks or months to be fingerprinted first. This will not delay the pistol permit process for new applicants and in fact may speed it up. Please continue to check back here for the updated status on new fingerprinting and application process. Any questions can be directed to Officer Putnam at 203-230-4039.
Walk-ins for non pistol permit fingerprinting can call 888-436-8778 to make an appointment.
Once we begin fingerprinting new applicants the hours will be:
Mondays, 10am to 2pm
Wednesdays, 2pm to 6pm
Appointments are NOT needed and Connecticut and F.B.I. fingerprint cards WILL BE provided.
Due to the pandemic our waiting area in the lobby is closed. Please wait in line outside and we will come outside to take you in when it is your turn.
