Alarm Registration

Alarm Ordinance and Fees

1. At the time of registration, the Police/Fire Department shall be furnished with the information on Page 1 of this form.

2. It shall be the responsibility of each Alarm User to notify the Police/Fire Department, in writing, of any changes to the information on Page 1 of this form.

3. No person, firm or corporation shall install an automatic dialing device used with an alarm system, within the Town of Hamden, terminating at the Town of Hamden's Central Communications Center.

4. All alarm systems that sound an audible signal, which may be heard outside of the premises, shall limit the duration of such signal to thirty (30) minutes.

5. A maximum of two (2) false alarms from one protected property per calendar year shall be permitted.

6. An Alarm User shall be fined as follows for each alarm received subsequent to the second false alarm in each calendar year from any one protected property:

8th false alarm                                 $200.00
9th and each subsequent false alarm $250.00

7. The Police/Fire Chief have authority to suspend an Alarm User's registration for twelve
        (12) or more false alarms when no verifiable effort has been made to eliminate false alarms.
